No sea in sight, but we had the canal and Welbeck Lake!

Jean Brenchley you just reminded me I was in the Sea Rangers age 14! The nearest we got to the sea was in a rowboat on Welbeck Lake – once! The Sea Cadets were all shipshape in their boat but we were hopeless at rowing and kept going in circles. The other time we were invited ‘aboard’ their setup only to find we were to join in the drill. Oh dear we didnt know our port from our…sherry.
Then I discovered rock n roll and moved on but they were a great organisation. Nice uniform too. Ive avoided formaility ever since .Apologies to those kind and hard-working Leaders. Happy days.About The Sea Rangers
