Orinally om http://livingwiththeardigansordpress.com: That statement will only mean something if you were a baby Boomer growing app like me in England in the 1960s. The Archers radio program had been going for years -< and we children tended to listen to it by default having to be quiet while our parents caught up with the daily episodes – which, fortunately, were not too long. Somehow I seem to have absorbed it by osmosis nd as soon as the theme tune is played it it sets off a response. After I asked ny friends on facebook I received several similar responses.

Somehow The Archers series seems to have nettled in that part of my brain where comfortable things hide.
Last year I had discovered a book by Timothy Bentinck relating to the Archers which was delightful. I am just about to relisten to my audio version while we are locked down here in Australia. Tim Bentinck has a connection with Australia, plus a tenuous link to Worksop, but I doubt he would welcome knowing that to me he is thought of as Earl Tim, but then again he has a great sense of humour.
[ suddenly had a pang of nostagia nd decided to look up The Archers radio program on good old Google and found lots including this radio interview which my explain to you about the program and book.
To be honest after we emigrated in 1972 I seem to have missed nany highlights of this actor’s prolific career but then he is a master of disguise. I may have nissed him. It was lovely to catch up on it. So here is the radio interview with Timithy Bentinck talking about his career, and Being Davud Archer. Then you may care to try some podcasts?
