Candle Holder from Outdated Lamp – something from nothing

I like sparkly! Love crystal, the way light prisms through it, throwing rainbows on the walls or celing. Outdoors – well the chandelier made the regional paper! This time I have updated my lighting and a spare table lamp passed on by my daughter-in-law 5 years ago is now obsolete. So…

I took the hook and chain from a rusting bucket plant holder, complete with clips, and simply clipped those to the top of the lamp frame.

Had a small outdoor candle holder that fitted safely inside the lamp so I cut off the power cable leaving the lamp holder as a stand for the candle holder. Simples!

Lastly, using plastic-coated paper clips (my best gardening tool) hooked some cute acrylic humming birds ($5.99 ea from Hot bargains) and hanged it from a long hook over the olive tree.

Added a candle to the holder, lit it with a bbq gas lighter and placed it inside on top of the empty lightbulb holder.

Oooh pretty! Due to the sea air nothing metal stays pristine for long outdoors, but it was fun creating something from nothing.
